A Lifetime on the Water
My connection to the sea began before I could even walk. At 18 months old, my parents, both teachers, introduced me to the world of sailing. From that moment on, the rhythm of the waves and the call of the open water became an integral part of my life.
Our summers were spent exploring the stunning waterways of Quebec, venturing along the historic Rideau Canal, through the breathtaking Thousand Islands, and out onto the vast expanse of Lake Ontario. We also journeyed south, discovering the hidden gems of Lake Champlain, from its northern reaches to its southern shores. These formative years instilled in me a deep love for sailing and a profound respect for the power and beauty of the water.
This lifelong passion never faded. Years later, I pursued my skipper’s license in Thailand in 2022, solidifying my commitment to sharing the joy of sailing with others.
Beyond the thrill of navigation, I understand the unique power of the sea to bring people together. Sailing and fishing create a shared experience, transcending backgrounds and uniting individuals in their appreciation for the natural world.

Sophie, First Mate


Meet Sophie, the heart and soul of Philosophie and my exceptional First Mate! While her sailing experience might be growing, her lifelong passion for the outdoors is undeniable. From conquering trails while camping to exploring the depths while scuba diving and casting lines while fishing, Sophie has always embraced adventure. Even at 16, she demonstrated her dedication and courage by earning her lifeguard license, and later accomplishing the oceanic training. Her adventurous spirit and unwavering enthusiasm make her the perfect partner for any journey, and she’s never one to shy away from a new challenge aboard Philosophie.
